Wasteland

The Wasteland · the dreadnaught · the flying castle · Kane's flying house

The gnome dreadnaught, shattered by Carl's aerial strike and reduced to a single balloon-borne house carrying Commandant Kane and his daughter.

Story so far

Carl's hijacked-balloon strike guts the Wasteland. He unloads guided missiles into its bomb-laden underbelly and gun-battery just as it fires a hundred Live Ammo Balls at him; the dreadnaught's armor and much of its bulk blow apart in a white fireball, raining flaming debris across the bowl and even onto Hump Town and the land quadrant. The bombardment is averted (completing the quest "Squeeze out the Juice Box"), but the castle isn't taken — only stripped of its armor.

What survives is a single undefended building no bigger than a house, hanging from one balloon that drifts up to the bubble's ceiling. Through the farseer, Carl spots its lone occupants: Commandant Kane and a young gnome girl, roughly ten years old — his daughter. Carl resolves to board this remnant and take it "the old-fashioned way" to claim Kane's piece of the Gate of the Feral Gods.

Appearance

Reduced from a vast dreadnaught to a single house-sized building dangling from one balloon, trailing smoke, drifting to the bubble's ceiling.

Role

The wrecked air-quadrant castle, now a lone flying house sheltering Kane and his daughter — Carl's next boarding target.

Relationships

Commandant Kane — Its surviving commander, adrift with his young daughter.

Gate of the Feral Gods — The artifact whose piece Kane holds aboard the surviving house.
