Stranded with Bea and four dentists after the collapse, he ended up in the New Queen Anne camp, resentful of doing everything Bea wants and disgusted by her unraveling and her feral cat Ferdinand. His real regret is not entering the dungeon: he obsessively fantasizes about the 'welcoming hole' and glory, repeating 'I am a king.' When alien hunters (Sadir, Gennrik) breach the tent and Odette's agent Lexis kills one, Brad lunges for a dropped flechette gun — 'I am the goddamned king' — and is shot by Lexis, left to bleed out on Odette's orders.
