Odette's ruthless, efficient Earth-side operative who captures Beatrice and the cat, kills one hunter, and frames another.
Lexis is Odette's operative on ruined Earth — a woman in a skintight black bodysuit with a translator built into her clothes and a pump shotgun, passing for a subtly-off 'human.' She arrives at the New Queen Anne camp mid-raid, kills the saccathian hunter Gennrik with a chest shot, captures the null Sadir at gunpoint, and takes Beatrice — knocking her out and cubing her — plus the cat Ferdinand. On Odette's orders she stages the scene as a hunters' quarrel over the cat: framing Sadir for shooting his partner in the back, letting the wounded Brad bleed out, and leaving the cat for Borant's walk-on bounty, with on-payroll security cleaning up. Efficient and faintly conscience-stricken, she pities the cat's fate but does the job.
An Asian-looking woman who seems subtly 'off' — anorexic, eyes set too close — in a skintight black bodysuit, wielding a pump-action shotgun.
