Soothers
Tall, giant-eyed aliens among the universe's most common species, filling roles from toy-show hosts to lending-fund enforcers.
Story so far
The soothers — formally the Forsoothed — are a tall, giant-eyed alien species Carl realizes is one of the most common in the universe. He meets two as costumed hosts of the Veriluxx infomercial: dour cowboy Gravo and friendly, superhero-costumed Liddi. Soothers also dominate the predatory lending fund Veritan Linkage, described as 'mostly-Soother,' which advocates enslaving those who can't pay their taxes.
Ubiquitous and adaptable, they turn up throughout the crawl's commercial machinery, from children's-toy marketing to debt-slavery finance.
Appearance
Tall humanoid aliens with enormous, oversized eyes; otherwise unremarkable, readily dressed up in costume for broadcasts.
