Dungeon Anarchists Cookbook

The Cookbook · The Anarchist's Cookbook

The shape-shifting subversive tome Carl secretly authors, now the source of the intel and recipes behind his first assassination.

Story so far

The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook is the illicit heirloom tome Carl carries and secretly writes as its 25th-edition author, manifesting differently for each holder. In Stage 3 it proves lethally practical: Carl mines its recipes to craft the Hobgoblin Disco Ball (reaching Infusion 3) and, crucially, reads the 19th-edition marginalia of Crawler Coolie — whose failed orbital suicide bombing revealed that the show trailers seal shut once occupied and can't be breached. Carl uses exactly that mechanic to murder Loita.

Afterward he adds his own 25th-edition notes: a message of thanks to Coolie, a dedication of 'the first step' to Coolie and the orphan Bonnie, and a vow that from here on everything he does is for his people — 'as long as I am alive, I will do everything I can to make them burn' — signed simply, 'One.'

Appearance

A shape-shifting tome that manifests as a different object for each holder — a book, a deck of T'Ghee cards, etc.; reads as near-valueless in the standard UI.

Role

Carl's secret manual of dungeon subversion and a repository of past crawler-authors' hard-won warnings — now his war-planning ledger.

Relationships

Carl — Its current holder and 25th-edition author, recording his first kill in its margins.
Crawler Coolie — The 19th-edition annotator whose recorded death taught Carl the trailer-seal mechanic.
Hobgoblin Disco Ball — An infused tossable Carl crafts from one of its recipes.
