Ferdinand

Gravy Boat

A half-feral orange stray — Bea's neighbor's tomcat who lusted after Princess Donut — captured by hunters for Borant's walk-on bounty.

Story so far

Ferdinand is the half-feral orange cat Beatrice clings to in the New Queen Anne camp — really her old neighbor's tomcat, 'Gravy Boat,' whom she'd called Ferdinand back when he yowled at her window trying to reach her show cat Princess (Princess Donut) when she was in heat. Found starving but alive in the ruins of Bea's apartment (beside a rotting human head), he became her guilt-soaked surrogate, scratching her bloody even as she sang apologies to him. He is also a bounty target: alien hunters (Sadir, Gennrik) stalk him for the Walk-On List, and Odette's agent Lexis ultimately cubes him to be handed to Borant to collect the walk-on bounty — a grim fate she pities.

Appearance

A scrawny, skin-and-bones half-feral orange-and-yellow tomcat, fast and vicious, quick to hiss and scratch.

Role

Bea's surrogate stray cat and a hunted walk-on bounty target.
