Second Chance

Donut's resurrection spell

Donut's resurrection spell, so amplified by her Glass Cannon class that she can briefly reanimate high-level corpses as puppets.

Story so far

Second Chance is Princess Donut's resurrection spell, normally able to revive a corpse up to ten levels above her own for up to fifteen minutes at spell level ten. Her Glass Cannon class supercharges it: she can now reanimate corpses up to *twenty* levels above her (crucial for the level-50 Wynne) for a full half-hour. In the Wasteland gambit she uses it to raise Wynne's beetle-chewed corpse as a snapping, ghoulish zombie so the gnomes believe their hostage lives — Mordecai notes reanimating key NPCs to deceive the living is almost a dungeon trope.

The spell's limits nearly betray the plan: cast too early, it expires mid-inspection, disintegrating Wynne's reanimated head into dust (forcing Katia Grim to grow a replacement head), and Donut grumbles that high-level, head-only corpses are far surlier to puppet.

Appearance

A resurrection magic that reanimates a corpse into a snarling, semi-conscious ghoul-puppet for a timed duration.

Role

Donut's corpse-reanimation spell, the linchpin of the party's hostage-deception scheme.

Relationships

Princess Donut — The caster whose Glass Cannon class massively boosts its power.
Wynne — The high-level gnome corpse she reanimates as a decoy hostage.
Mordecai — Who confirms deceiving the living with the reanimated dead is a common trope.
