character

Carl

Carl awakens at level 73, frees Paz's totem, forces Faction Wars votes to the audience, and ascends with Donut and Imani as the world is stripped clean.

Story so far

Carl wakes in Louis's arms while the allies flee burning Havana. His hair and eyebrows are gone, Mongo has lost a wing, Li Jun an eye, and Tran his wheelchair, but no crawlers died. Hole got the group out before FOCSA collapsed.

He refuses to carry Paz or Golden Combo forward, helps Donut rip the God Predator card, and conceals the Eye of the Bedlam Bride for the moment. The quest confirms Amayon's portal covers Earth and gives Cuba thirty minutes to shelter beneath a sealed stairwell chamber.

Before leaving, Carl spends one emergency action to send pending audience-facing Faction Wars votes to viewers. Sponsor safety is removed, an NPC Home Team is approved, and the battlefield expands for the unprecedented survivor count.

Carl, Donut, and Imani stand beneath the marked church chamber. He forgets to diffuse the Scavenger's Daughter's soul power, hears Shi Maria warn him, and is pulled into the sky at zero.

Appearance

A bald burned crawler beneath a neon-marked stairwell chamber, holding a cat as a winged healer embraces them.

Role

Carl closes the eighth floor by preserving mass survival and converting it into a hostile next-floor political landscape.

Relationships

Donut — They make the final decisions and ascend together.
Imani — She shelters with them and thanks them for not abandoning family.
Paz Lo — Carl honors his wish by destroying the totem.
Shi Maria — Her internal voice warns him at the final moment.
