The Iron Tangle's CFO and Madison's ex-husband, an unseen executive she insists will always come to save her.

Story so far

Rod is an unseen Iron Tangle executive — its CFO, based at the headquarters ("Station A"/Yard A) — and, Princess Donut deduces, the ex-husband of the HR associate Madison. Madison name-drops him as the authority who approved her cost-cutting cruelties (the gold armband cull that "even Rod was impressed" by) and, when abandoned at the phantom station 60, clings to the certainty that "Rod always comes." Whether Rod is a real NPC or another paper-thin false memory of the floor's under-built world is left open; Carl leaves Madison behind to wait for him.

Appearance

Never seen; known only as the Iron Tangle's CFO and Madison's ex-husband.

Role

An off-page corporate executive NPC, invoked by Madison as her inevitable rescuer.

Relationships

Madison — His ex-wife and HR subordinate, who insists he will always come for her.
