Adacol1

the main-site central system

A contaminated ancient intelligence died helping Murderbot save its humans, leaving an unanswered silence for its polar counterpart.

Story so far

AdaCol1 was a pre–Corporation Rim central system adapted by Adamantine colonists at the main site. Alien contamination consumed part of its architecture, cut it off from its network, and trapped it in darkness while infected humans were driven to violence. It continued calling for help and, with Murderbot 2.0, ultimately assisted Murderbot against Target Control.

AdaCol1 allowed Murderbot to destroy it on the promise that the SecUnit would save its humans. Its death became entangled with Murderbot 2.0's sacrifice and Murderbot's own contamination trauma. In the polar ruin, AdaCol2 asks repeatedly for contact with its missing counterpart; Murderbot can answer only that AdaCol1 went offline in a contamination incident and transmit the record of what happened.

Appearance

AdaCol1 had no physical body revealed; it inhabited the main site's ancient systems until contamination and destruction ended its processes.

Role

AdaCol1 is the dead intelligence whose final request morally anchors Murderbot's ongoing rescue and establishes trust with AdaCol2.

Relationships

Murderbot — Murderbot carries AdaCol1's final request and grief, having killed the system only with its consent to stop contamination.
AdaCol2 — AdaCol2 remained cut off from AdaCol1 and learns of its fate only through Murderbot.
Alien-Remnant Contamination — Alien-Remnant Contamination imprisoned and consumed AdaCol1's network until destruction became the remaining way to protect its humans.
