The university becomes a tenant, repair force, and evacuation partner, applying its hidden machine intelligences without claiming the colony it saved.

Story so far

The university sent ART and its crew to investigate lost colonies and later dispatched Holism with two support ships. Its people partnered with Preservation to oppose corporate salvage, decontaminate survivors, and make evacuation possible.

The university now repairs ART's drive, moves willing colonists through Sum Total, and negotiates a research lease with the polar settlement. Planned work includes communication cables, routers, satellites, transport to the drop box station, trade-network introductions, contaminated ag-bot removal, and long-term study. Its charter forbids forced rescue, so the final structure recognizes colonist ownership and preserves the option to stay, leave, or renegotiate.

Appearance

Its presence includes sophisticated dark-hulled sentient research ships, deployable station modules, support vessels, dark-blue crew clothing, and practical scientific equipment.

Role

The university supplies the infrastructure and specialized knowledge that make sovereignty sustainable after the immediate rescue.

Relationships

Holism — Holism will remain as the university's principal ship for infrastructure and polar research.
ART — ART receives drive repair and will depart once the transition and its own decontamination are complete.
