character

Amena

Amena plans to apply to the university after completing her Preservation education, extending her connection to ART's wider world.

Story so far

Amena survived ART's abduction and the alien-remnant crisis beside Murderbot, becoming one of the clearest human interpreters of machine people and copied consciousness. She remained aboard the Preservation responder during the polar mission and worried through Murderbot's initial false-memory shutdown.

With the colony crisis stabilizing, Amena decides to apply to the University of Mihira and New Tideland. She must first complete education modules at FirstLanding on Preservation, so she will return home rather than immediately traveling with ART. Her choice leaves open a future in the university network that ART and Holism represent.

Appearance

An adolescent girl of otherwise unspecified features with tied-back hair, wearing clean practical clothing.

Role

Amena represents the human future opened by the Preservation-university alliance and remains part of Murderbot's extended family.

Relationships

Murderbot — Murderbot and Dr. Mensah tried to shield Amena from worry about the false-memory incident, though her concern remains part of its recovery context.
University of Mihira and New Tideland — The University of Mihira and New Tideland is Amena's intended next educational destination.
ART — ART is a machine person Amena already understands as family rather than merely a ship.
