Story so far
The silo views show lifeless brown hills beneath gray skies. Holston saw blue sky and green ground through his helmet, but outside its display the landscape was brown and gray, and toxins were killing him. Juliette found cleaners’ remains, barren dust and dry earth beyond the hills, and a repeating pattern of hollows. Fierce winds sweep grit and dust among jagged rocks and the fifty evenly spaced silo depressions.
Erskine claimed the world was being reset to remove humanity’s experiments as well as people. The convention’s tents, fairgrounds and stages have been consumed by tiny machines in the air. Yet the latest drone flight reaches beyond the last silo hills and reveals a vivid green landscape, extending the known view beyond the surrounding devastation.
