Preservation's leader who freed Murderbot; now a tired public figure pressing the investigation into GrayCris at Milu.
Dr. Mensah, the Preservation Alliance administrator who bought Murderbot's freedom after the GrayCris atrocities, does not appear in person here but reaches the story through a newsburst interview. She looks worn, with the skin around her eyes marking chronic sleeplessness, and she is still caught up in the legal aftermath of DeltFall and GrayCris. In the interview she declares she will urge the Preservation Council to join the formal call to investigate GrayCris's abandoned terraforming project at Milu, calling the failed terraform a tragic waste that GrayCris refuses to explain.
Her words are what set Murderbot's mission in motion: it reads her exhaustion as a sign something is wrong, hopes it isn't about the escaped SecUnit, and decides that finding proof at Milu could lift the pressure off her and let her go safely home to Preservation.
An experienced adult woman with dark brown skin and very short lighter-brown hair, looking tired on the news, the skin around her eyes marked by lack of sleep.
Off-page catalyst; the ally whose public campaign against GrayCris inspires Murderbot's journey to Milu.
