Frederick Lewis

EMC Battleship Frederick Lewis · Coalition battleship

The Frederick Lewis suffers damage severe enough to dump its reactor core during the opening exchanges at Point Leuctra.

Story so far

The Frederick Lewis is an Earth-Mars Coalition battleship committed to the two-hundred-thirty-seven-ship formation at Point Leuctra. It joins the converging rail and torpedo bombardment after the Heart of the Tempest crosses the defenders' declared boundary.

During the fast, close-range exchange, the flagship's return fire cripples the Frederick Lewis. Reports reaching People's Home say the battleship is dropping its reactor core, sacrificing its power plant to prevent a breach from destroying the vessel. Its damage is one of the early reminders that the apparently weakening Tempest can still answer the fleet ship by ship.

Appearance

A large conventional Earth-Mars battleship in a dense combat formation, damaged under Laconian return fire and ejecting its reactor core into open space.

Role

The Frederick Lewis is an early major casualty of the Leuctra engagement and evidence that the Tempest remains offensively lethal while under concentrated fire.
