A contemptuous but well-placed Medina technician gains access to operations and disables the right panel long enough for Bobbie's team to remove the dormant sensor.
Ramez is a very tall, extremely thin man in Medina Station technical support, giving him broad access and making him the underground's insider for the signal-tap operation. He initially dismisses the plan because all Laconian traffic is heavily encrypted and needles Clarissa Mao by calling her “little girl.” Clarissa threatens him, and Bobbie Draper makes clear that disrespecting her second will bring a beating from the captain.
Ramez supplies James Holden an unlocked terminal and waits outside operations while Holden's coded call recruits Daphne Kohl. Once admitted, he places the dormant section of the Medina Communications Array into diagnostic shutdown. That invisible systems action lets Bobbie and Clarissa physically remove the sensor without generating an alarm, making his access central despite his abrasive behavior.
An extremely tall, stick-thin Belter man with long expressive hands and a condescending grin; his coloring, hair, and clothing are otherwise undescribed.
Ramez is the underground's inside technical operator, providing official access and diagnostic cover for the covert sensor removal.
