Stover

Laconian destroyer Stover · Escort ship · Occupation ship

The Stover arrives to escort People's Home, a euphemism for occupying the wounded void city and installing Captain Perkins over its returned population.

Story so far

The Stover is a Laconian destroyer assigned to People's Home after Sol's surrender. By the time it arrives, most of the void city's evacuated population has returned. Its escort mission gives Captain Rowman Perkins and power-armored Marines direct control of the former union capital.

The ship's presence makes resistance or independent movement impossible while allowing daily civic life to resume. Drummer understands “escort” as occupation: the Stover is the local force behind her house arrest, Perkins's authority, and People's Home's subservient journey behind the Heart of the Tempest to TSL-5.

Appearance

A modern Laconian destroyer of familiar human proportions, stationed close beside the much larger wounded void city it controls with troops and weapons.

Role

The Stover is the occupation vessel that converts People's Home from a surrendered battleship into a governed imperial population center.

Relationships

Rowman Perkins — Rowman Perkins arrives with the ship and uses its Marines to rule the void city.
People's Home — It escorts and occupies People's Home, enforcing the city's submission after Leuctra.
Camina Drummer — Its military presence sustains Camina Drummer's house arrest and coerced public cooperation.
