Preservation’s orbital civic hub becomes the concealed site of a near-successful assassination inside its own council offices.

Story so far

Preservation Station is the orbital transit and government center serving the Preservation Alliance. Its public council offices contain a large oval meeting chamber, administrative foyers, private offices, narrow windows, and feed-linked security infrastructure.

Three GrayCris operatives infiltrate the station and attack Mensah during a council meeting. Two enhanced assassins overpower the first six-person security response, and only Murderbot and Officer Tifany prevent them from reaching their target. Senior Officer Indah brings in containment and medical support after the short, violent engagement.

The public and private council feeds are locked down while Mensah and security staff conceal how close the attack came to success, denying GrayCris useful intelligence for a second attempt. Murderbot then traces the infiltration rather than entering Medical, making the station both a sanctuary and a security problem still embedded in Mensah’s recovery.

Appearance

A busy orbital civic station with transit rings, public administrative foyers, private council offices, a broad oval chamber lined by tall narrow windows, and feed-connected security checkpoints.

Role

Preservation Station is the seat of Mensah’s public authority and the supposed safe space GrayCris penetrates. The attack there justifies Murderbot’s continued threat assessments around her family and work.

Relationships

Mensah — Mensah leads council business on the station and survives an assassination attempt inside its government offices.
Murderbot — Murderbot protects the station council, coordinates with its security personnel, and investigates how the attackers entered.
Tifany — Officer Tifany is nearly killed as part of the station’s first response team.
Indah — Senior Officer Indah directs containment and medical recovery in the damaged council chamber.
GrayCris — GrayCris penetrates the station deeply enough to reveal that Preservation’s civic openness can be exploited.
