Preservation's transit station, built around the ancient colony ship that carried its refugee founders, where Murderbot comes to rest.
Preservation Transit Station is the station where Murderbot recovers and, ultimately, chooses to stay. It is built around the giant, ancient colony ship that carried Preservation's founders—refugees from a failed colony world—through nearly two hundred years of suspension, with a conventional circular transit ring extended from the old hold; the same battered ship serves as Murderbot's recovery vessel on approach. Unlike the corporate hubs, its security is sensibly concentrated at the docks rather than smothering the living spaces, feed advertising is distance-limited, and it runs two economies—hard currency for travelers, barter for citizens.
Its mall features real plants, mosaic tiles, a Welcome Center for prospective immigrants, and a theater; Dr. Mensah keeps a government office and quarters here. Murderbot is lodged in a diplomatic guest suite, wanders the concourses unrecognized, and finds it 'maybe' a place to be while it figures out what it wants.
A station grown around a huge old refugee starship, with a circular transit ring, plant-filled mosaic-tiled malls, restrained advertising, docks, a Welcome Center, and a theater.
The book's final setting; Preservation's homeport and Murderbot's tentative new home.
