Silent to Fred's allies, Medina has fallen under Free Navy control and now obstructs colony traffic while Duarte's fleet slips through toward Laconia.
Medina Station first goes silent to Tycho's scheduled calls as unknown Martian military ships begin a high-g burn toward the Ring. The silence is now explained in part by the Free Navy's seizure of the hub. Traffic control refuses or delays support to desperate ships such as the Toreador, and the station's position allows Marco's people to seize vessels and supplies while starving distant colonies.
Captain Sauveterre's breakaway Martian fleet still receives clearance to proceed through Medina toward Laconia, showing that the station's new rulers either cooperate with or fail to understand Duarte's independent project. The alien station at the Ring hub remains too dangerous for the fleet to threaten openly, but Medina has become the human chokepoint through which both Marco's piracy and Duarte's deeper ambition pass.
A major self-sustaining station at the central Ring hub, with traffic control, docking access, and the vast alien structure hanging inert in the starless space between gates.
Medina is the contested gateway where the Free Navy can control supplies and transit, while hidden military forces exploit the same access for a separate agenda.
