Plutus

Story so far

Plutus is an Io city within the emerald Garter, with battlements, a spaceport, citrus groves, subterranean levels, and an anti-ship network. Fá's forces hold it after Europa's conquest, but they have inherited a dangerous gift: the kinetic shields over the city were torn down, and key air batteries have been sabotaged.

Lysander's force turns those vulnerabilities into a demonstration of Core superiority. The Lightbringer's strike cuts through gravBoot defenders, New Shepherds and Praetorians descend into the city, and isolated Ascomanni are hunted through buildings and lower levels. At the spaceport, burning cosmosHaulers conceal thousands of captive lowColors, while relief craft descend amid corpses and refugees. By the time Gaia and the Moon Lords are liberated from the Arbor of Akari, Plutus has become both the site of a military rout and a stage for Lysander's claim to have restored order.

Appearance

A green Garter city of battlements, spaceport tarmacs, citrus groves, subterranean passages, and the silver-leaved Arbor of Akari, scarred by descending troops, smoke, and burning haulers.

Role

Plutus is the first major prize of Lysander's Io campaign and the setting where conquest is deliberately presented as rescue.
