Lightbringer

Lysander's flagship

Lysander's immense flagship annihilates the Ascomanni fleet at Io and turns a planned invasion into a spectacle of rescue and order.

Story so far

Lightbringer is the enormous flagship from which Lysander launches his Io campaign. Its approach alone breaks much of the Ascomanni fleet's nerve; under Pytha's command, it destroys attackers at extreme range while the accompanying Core ships close around every apparent escape route. The ship's scale and firepower make Fá's former protection of the Ascomanni against Core range advantages painfully irrelevant.

Over Plutus, Lightbringer sends a column of light through a gravBoot formation to open Lysander's Rain, then later releases slow hearthcraft full of water, rations, and medical supplies into the wrecked spaceport. It is therefore both executioner and relief platform: the instrument through which Lysander makes devastating military dominance look like humane restoration.

Appearance

An immense capital warship, the largest vessel most Ascomanni at Io have ever seen, moving with a Core fleet and deploying devastating orbital fire alongside slow relief craft.

Role

Lightbringer is the center of Lysander's military power and the physical stage for his civilization-versus-savagery narrative.

Relationships

Lysander — Lysander uses Lightbringer as his flagship and as the most visible proof of his new command's reach and order.
Pytha — Pytha commands Lightbringer's decisive long-range action during the battle for Io.
Plutus — Plutus is struck and then supplied from Lightbringer as the campaign converts city-scale destruction into a rescue display.
