Rage of the Valkyrie

The massive Volk warship is designated as Queen Volga's likely flagship for the return toward Mars.

Story so far

Rage of the Valkyrie is a large Volk warship, substantial enough to carry the smaller Archimedes aboard it. After Volga's election, Darrow expects the new queen to lead from its decks as Volk queens traditionally lead from the front.

The designation is forward-looking but immediately meaningful: the ship represents a command center for a people who have just chosen to abandon Fá's throne, loot, and slavery in favor of a return to Mars. It will also create a place for Cassius, whom Darrow hopes may teach Ragnar's daughter the razor.

Appearance

A massive, hard-used Volk warship built to carry smaller vessels and serve as a forward command ship for an Obsidian queen.

Role

Rage of the Valkyrie is the prospective flagship of Volga's newly elected rule and the vessel meant to carry the reformed Volk toward the wider war.

Relationships

Volga — Volga is expected to command Rage of the Valkyrie as the Volk's queen.
Darrow — Darrow considers the ship the practical platform for Volga's return to Mars and for the alliance she has chosen.
Cassius — Cassius may travel aboard the ship as the razormaster Darrow hopes will teach Volga.
