Lysander's opening bombardment destroys the House of Bounty, collapsing Demeter's supporting hand and burying the agricultural council's peace summit in rubble.
House of Bounty was the glowing council hall in Demeter's palm where Diomedes became Hegemon, protected Darrow by guest-right, and tried to forge a Rim-Rising-Lune alliance. Its sacred rules required guests to remove the outer world's dirt and enter in slippers, leaving the gathering symbolically and physically unprepared for the violence Lysander had already planned.
Particle beams and missiles strike Plutus after the tightbeam ends. The shield endures the first blows, but a barrage tears a kilometer-wide hole in the cityscape near the House. Falling carvings kill young Moon Lords, a supporting pillar fails, and Darrow, Diomedes, Grecca, and Olympic Knights hold the exit open long enough for most to flee. The House then collapses with Demeter's outstretched hand breaking off at the wrist; at least one Moon Lord falls with it into the abyss. The ruined hall becomes the first monumental casualty of Lysander's war against the Rim.
A shattered circular nickel council hall collapsed from the broken palm of Demeter, its ceremonial chambers and carved dryads reduced to rubble above an abyss.
The destruction of House of Bounty turns a planned peace summit into a mass-casualty escape and proves that Lysander's ultimatum was never a negotiation.
