Europa
The storm-wracked, low-gravity oceanworld of banking and deepsea mining where Lorn au Arcos lives in exile.
Story so far
Europa is a Galilean oceanworld of banking, deepsea mining, and vacation homes, its seas ninety kilometers deep and its gravity a maddening 0.136 of Earth's, where every unmeasured step sends one floating fifteen feet up. Its skies buck with blue lightning under the marble-god face of Jupiter, and its dregs-born boys ride skiffs into killing gales as 'stormsons.' Here Lorn au Arcos keeps his limestone-and-steel castle on a man-made island, sheltering his family and a private forest with his griffin Icarus. Darrow comes in secret aboard the Pax to win Lorn's ships and men, finding instead an ambush: Aja au Grimmus and a Praetorian death squad wait within, and a Bellona fleet closes overhead.
Appearance
A tempest-blasted oceanworld of ninety-kilometer seas and ten-meter waves under a vast Jupiter, its 0.136 gravity making everything float; dotted with man-made island castles.
Role
Lorn au Arcos's place of exile; the setting of Darrow's fateful recruitment-turned-ambush.
