Story so far
At Darrow's Triumph feast, Sevro grows uneasy that his father Fitchner—Ares—is absent and unreachable, and leaves to investigate at Darrow's urging to call Ragnar and be careful. Darrow watches him go 'like watching my shadow depart,' sensing Sevro's destiny may run separate from his own. His departure spares him the coup that erupts moments later—the massacre that poisons Darrow, butchers Lorn and Victra, and murders Augustus—but it also sends him toward the worst discovery of all: his father lies beheaded, his head delivered to Darrow in the Mask box.
Alive and free while his friends fall, the half-Red son of Ares is left, with Mustang and Ragnar, among the last hopes of a shattered rebellion.
