Ragnar Volarus

the Stained · Sunborn's Stained

The freed Stained who recites his life of scars and, kneeling unarmed before a Gold, declares he now lives for more.

Story so far

In the Lykos deepmine, Ragnar Volarus tracks Darrow and, hidden in the dark, threatens to kill Mustang to protect the Reaper 'for the People,' counting down her breaths even as Darrow begs him to trust her. Reminding Darrow that his trust at Agea's river led them into a trap—'you are not always right, that is the cost of mortality'—he nonetheless answers the question of what he lives for with a testament that lays his whole soul bare. Born free to Alia Snowsparrow at the Valkyrie Spires before the slavers of the Weeping Sun took his family, he recounts his forty-four scars earned for Gold, the sisters and brothers and fathers he buried for masters who gave him nothing—'for them I have never earned a scar.' Then, choosing faith like Darrow's, he sets down his weapons, kneels unarmed at Darrow's side before an armed Gold, and declares: 'I live for my sisters.

I live for my brother. Now, I live for more.'

Appearance

A colossal, pale, hairless Obsidian with black eyes, a skull-tattooed face, runic tattoos, and a long white ponytail, in armor that glows with pale white light along the knuckles.
