The distant capital city of the disputed lands — the prize the ninth-floor faction wars are fought over.
Larracos is named to Carl as 'the capital city of the disputed lands,' the prize over which the dungeon's factions war. He first hears it as a label on a guarded staircase in the Desperado-Casino, with raucous laughter and cheering rising from below. Per the Crocodilian guard Igor, the factions' armies aren't permitted to start conquering one another until crawlers reach the ninth floor; until then the commanders train their units or party and gamble (in credits, not gold) at the club.
To Carl the ninth floor is a distant, looming stop sign — an impending disaster he doubts the party will even survive to reach, which only sharpens the sense of Larracos as a far-off endgame stage.
Unseen by Carl — only glimpsed as a label on a descending casino staircase, with cheering audible from below.
A far-future faction-war capital, foreshadowed as the ninth floor's grand prize.
