The Desperado Club's newly-opened gambling floor of deadly Earth games — and two guarded staircases down to the Hunting Grounds and Larracos.
The Desperado Casino is the gambling wing of the Station-131 Desperado Club, opening on the fourth floor. Smaller than expected, it holds card tables, roulette, craps, and Tito's vertical Wheel of Fortune — all Earth games, run to a sultry magical jazz track (possibly the murdered Naga Manasa) that nudges players to spend. The games are lethal: the roulette 'Nothing!' spot drops losers screaming through a trapdoor into a clawed darkness.
Two guarded spiral staircases descend from here to future floors — one labeled the Hunting Grounds (sixth floor), the other to Larracos, the contested capital of the ninth-floor faction wars, whose off-duty commanders party and gamble with credits below. Carl cashes his 100,000-gold comp chip at the wheel and, after a near-disaster, wins a Scroll of Upgrade that boosts his toe ring.
A dim, jazz-scored gambling room the size of the dance floor, with card/roulette/craps tables and a vertical prize wheel, tuxedoed Crocodilian guards, and two closed spiral staircases descending to lower floors.
A high-stakes, high-danger gambling floor and a literal window down to the dungeon's looming deeper floors.
