Fae Diaspora

the Fae Diaspora

The dozens of scattered elf and fairy breeds, all descended from a high elf court whose seed a goddess cursed.

Story so far

The Fae Diaspora is the name given to the consequence of Nekhebit's wrath. When the elf mothers abandoned the vulture goddess for Apito the Oak Goddess, Nekhebit cursed the seed of the male-dominated high elf court she held responsible, and the result was scattering: dozens of elf and fairy breeds spread across the universe, all of whom can trace their lineage back to that early court, whose cursed offspring sowed the stars.

It is a piece of lore that quietly reframes a great deal of what the crawlers have already met, from the fairies of the second floor and the the Desperado Club's fairy manager to Silfa the Wisteria Fairy healing in the engine cab and the City Elf mobs of the third floor — all of them, by this account, branches of one cursed family.

Appearance

Not a place or a body but a family tree: dozens of elf and fairy breeds of wildly different size, colour and shape.

Role

The lore explanation for the universe's proliferation of elf and fairy races.

Relationships

Nekhebit — Her curse on the high elf court's seed created it.
Apito — The goddess whose worship provoked the curse.
Silfa — A Wisteria Fairy, and thus one of the diaspora's many breeds.
