Wisp Armor

Wisp Armor spell

A self-only light-armor spell negating most magic damage and granting temporary mind-control immunity.

Story so far

Wisp Armor is a magic protection spell Carl had long hoarded as a valuable spellbook to sell, finally learning it himself when he needed it. Costing 5 mana and lasting five minutes plus one per skill level (with a five-minute cooldown), it wreathes him in tendrils of light that negate 75% of incoming magic damage and, critically, grant temporary immunity to mind-control effects. Carl cast it before deliberately swallowing Grimaldi's parasitic worms, so the vine's hive-mind couldn't fully seize him — buying five minutes of autonomy to broker peace between Grimaldi and Tsarina Signet.

Appearance

Wreathes the caster in swirling tendrils of light like a swarm of comets, ethereal and druid-like.

Role

Carl's anti-magic, anti-mind-control buff — the linchpin of his worm-infestation gambit.

Relationships

Carl — Learned and cast it to keep his mind his own while infested by the vine's worms.
Grimaldi-the-Vine — Whose hive-mind Wisp Armor held at bay long enough for Carl to speak for both sides.
