Mao's triple-hulled luxury yacht, now seized by Bobbie and under Avasarala's command — too slow for the race, but carrying a racing pinnace.
The Guanshiyin is Jules-Pierre Mao's obscenely luxurious private yacht, revealed here to be triple-hulled for maximum redundancy and painted, absurdly, with a vivid mural of horses and grass no one will ever see. Built for slow, comfortable cruising, it becomes Avasarala's prison when its crew — following the cabal's orders — cut her comms, disable the keel elevator, and barricade the decks to hold her captive. Bobbie Draper, in powered armor, fights up through it: absorbing a galley ambush, EVAing across the hull, and reaching the bridge deck, where the captain surrenders rather than have his XO scuttle the ship.
Command passes to Avasarala. But the yacht can barely manage a full g, far too slow to intercept Holden's Rocinante ahead of Nguyen's destroyers — its saving grace is the racing pinnace Razorback stowed in its second shuttle bay. Mao himself had earlier departed on the yacht's only conventional shuttle.
A rounded, softened luxury yacht like a floating hotel — plush carpets, chandeliers, gold fixtures — now revealed as triple-hulled with an ostentatious mural of horses and grass across its outer skin; Spartan crew quarters below the guest decks.
Mao's captured triple-hulled yacht, now Avasarala's but too slow for the chase, hosting the faster Razorback.
