Razorback

The racing pinnace Razorback ferries Holden the short, debris-strewn hop to the plague-ship and back — a race car run to the corner market at 5% thrust.

Story so far

The Razorback — the sleek racing ship, likely the fastest vessel in the Jupiter system — carries Holden across the few thousand kilometers of battle debris from the Rocinante to the infected Agatha King. He flies it by hand in 'teakettle mode' at about 5 percent thrust, weaving past glowing wreckage, the ship seeming to strain and balk as if it too doesn't want to go to that awful place. Lacking any docking tube, it holds station five meters off the King's airlock for Holden's short spacewalk in, and waits through his ordeal.

After he strips his fouled hazmat suit and dons a stolen vac suit, the Razorback carries him back toward the Roci; he transmits the codes to Souther and watches the King explode behind him.
