Rocinante

Repaired at Tycho and now crewed by an all-star gunner, the Roci survives six UN destroyers with only three clean bullet-holes, allied with a Martian fleet.

Story so far

The Rocinante — the former Martian frigate *Tachi*, now the incorporated crew's shared ship — is patched from her Ganymede bomb damage and thrown into a battle against six Munroe-class UN destroyers sent to kill her. A multi-role fast-attack vessel (torpedo bomber, boarding platform, gunship), she carries a stored Marine assault package that lets Bobbie Draper arm herself and take the weapons chair. Alex decelerates her ass-first to let the allied Martian ships engage first, then burns her through the fight while Bobbie runs her torpedoes and Naomi her countermeasures.

She dances through walls of fire, taking only three PDC rounds that punch clean through — venting her atmosphere (the crew ride it out in suits) but hitting nothing vital, one passing through Prax's cabin. With the Martians' help she helps destroy or force the surrender of all six destroyers and emerges victorious, battered but sound, now escorted toward Io by a Martian war fleet.

Appearance

A sleek Martian warship, freshly repaired but scored again by battle — three clean PDC punctures venting atmosphere; galley still lettered ROCINANTE with its stenciled yellow narcissus, flying ass-first in a decel burn.

Role

The crew's ship, victorious over six UN destroyers with Martian allies, now bound for Io.

Relationships

Bobbie Draper — The Marine who arms from her assault package and fights her as gunner to victory.
Alex Kamal — Her pilot, who dances her through the destroyer salvos with only three clean hits.
Naomi Nagata — Her ops officer, running the countermeasures that keep her alive.
Holden — Her captain, who runs combat ops and points her at the enemy fleet.
Io — The moon she now heads for, escorted by the Martian ships that saved her.
