Story so far
In the Rocinante's galley, Naomi Nagata finds Holden transfixed by the replay of the protomolecule leaving Venus, coffee cold and food untouched. She takes his hand and, twice, asks the one question that matters — 'Can you do anything about it?' — harsh in words but kind in voice, trying to free him from a dread he can't act on. When he keeps staring, she rises, tells him not to wake her, and goes to bed exhausted.
Her steady, grounded love is the counterweight to Holden's terror as the book closes on the arrival of the dead Miller's apparition.
