Story so far
Bobbie Draper helped seize Medina, warned that the victory was indefensible, and stood ready on the Roci when Naomi's gate wake erased Marco's incoming fleet. Six months later, the Ceres settlement frames the system's recovery around a Belter-run transport union and confirms what the war's arms theft and Laconian defection had already threatened: Mars's old terraforming project no longer has the future it promised.
At a pub with the Roci family, Bobbie hears Holden and Naomi explain the proposed union and accepts why it must be genuinely Belter-led. She remains unusually quiet until Naomi draws her aside. The legal and economic plans make the loss immediate: all her life, Mars becoming a viable living world was the fixed horizon of service and identity, and now it is gone. She sees that the Free Navy's appeal was not really a politics of liberation but a wish to restore a vanished past with new masters on top.
Bobbie cannot say who she is in the world after that loss, or what Belters become when they are no longer defined by the old Belt. Naomi offers only the ship and their chosen family, and Bobbie accepts that as a plan for now. She later protects Clarissa from an unwanted admirer with the same gentle decisiveness she brought to the battlefield.
Appearance
A towering, powerfully built Martian woman with cropped dark hair, a direct intense gaze, and a soldier's posture softened by quiet grief; she wears casual off-duty clothes in a Ceres pub.
Role
Bobbie is the Roci's warrior confronting the collapse of the Martian future that formed her, while choosing her crew as the immediate ground beneath her.
Relationships
[[Naomi Nagata]] — Naomi makes room for Bobbie's grief over Mars and answers it with companionship instead of pretending either of them knows their new identity.
[[Clarissa Mao]] — She makes it unmistakably clear that the local man hitting on Clarissa will not be permitted to pressure her.
[[Rocinante]] — The ship and its people give her a workable belonging after the political future she served has fallen away.
