Murderbot left the station alone rather than accept a human guardian, and she does not appear directly in these events, but she dominates its thinking. A station newsburst about the ongoing GrayCris legal battle mentions in passing that Dr. Mensah of PreservationAux bought the SecUnit who saved her, framed as the story's heartwarming note.
She and the surviving team know the truth the journalists missed, that the 'bodyguard' in the image is that very SecUnit.
