Story so far

PreservationAux is the survey group from the Preservation Alliance, a non-corporate political entity where bots and constructs are considered legal sentients with human guardians. Led by Dr. Mensah and including Pin-Lee and Ratthi, the team survived the GrayCris massacre with Murderbot's help and afterward tried to give it a home. In the newsburst Murderbot reads, Preservation and three other non-corporate entities that had citizens in the DeltFall habitat are ganging up with The Company against GrayCris in a tangle of solicitor-fights over jurisdiction, financial responsibility, and bond guarantees.

Preservation's willingness to treat Murderbot as a person, rather than a tool, is exactly what unsettled it into leaving.

Appearance

A small non-corporate survey team, typically seen in gray survey uniforms.

Role

Murderbot's former clients and the closest thing it has to belonging; a moral counterweight to the Corporation Rim.

Relationships

Dr. Mensah — Its leader, who bought and freed Murderbot.

GrayCris — Its adversary in the ongoing multi-party legal battle.

Murderbot — The SecUnit it tried to adopt as a person, which fled rather than accept a guardian.
