The Knockers

the factory workers

Tiny yellow-hard-hatted Bopca-gnome workers of the factory — harmless miners-turned-drug-barons who scatter underfoot but fiercely guard their product.

Story so far

Knockers are the small NPC race staffing the Gasworks Screw Factory — round-faced creatures about the size of Zev, resembling a smaller Bopca crossed with a gnome, all in bright yellow hard hats, levels 10 to 15. They scatter in terror as the racers roar in, and are casually mowed down by the crueler teams. Their lore, unspooled in the Toddler Cocaine track description, is pure DCC satire: originally a weak cave-dwelling people whose mineral-rich home was seized by stronger 'Corporatocracy' miners, they fought back the only way they could — manufacturing and selling high-grade drugs to the miners, then bootstrapping the proceeds into the legitimate Coblyn Corporation before addicting themselves to profit and inventing cocaine marketed to toddlers.

The knocker workers themselves are harmless and can't fight back, but they are fiercely protective of their product — and their magically built help most certainly can.
