The Coblyn Corporation

the knockers' corporation

The knocker-run drug-and-toy conglomerate that bootstrapped from cave-dweller underdogs into cocaine-for-toddlers barons.

Story so far

The Coblyn Corporation is the conglomerate built by the knockers, the tiny factory workers of the Gasworks Screw Factory — a savage DCC parable of capitalism. Originally weak cave-dwellers whose mineral-rich home was seized by a stronger 'Corporatocracy' of miners, the knockers retaliated by manufacturing high-grade drugs and selling them to the miners (with an 'E'), pulling themselves up by their bootstraps until they were loaded. They incorporated as Coblyn, bought back the ore from their own land, milled and sold it aboveboard, and branched into toys, skateboards, and fidget spinners — but, addicted now to the money, they cracked the one market they couldn't legally enter by inventing Toddler Cocaine, flavored, mascot-branded, doll-bundled cocaine sold to children (minors, with an 'O').

The narrator draws no lesson beyond a sad observation that the ceaseless pursuit of comfort turns destructive when denied. The corporation guards its product ferociously through magically built enforcers.
