character

Elle

the Frost Maiden · Miss Elle

After the mimic fight, goblin-Elle confronts Carl over the 'evil-eye' he used and his habit of hiding things — warning that his secrets, like the un-confronted Britney, will bite them all.

Story so far

With the casino won, Elle — still a goblin, annoyed at having to walk — presses Carl hard about the 'evil-eye bullshit' that froze the mimic boss. He admits it's the Eye of the Bedlam Bride tattoo, now on his dog forehead, insisting he controls it. Elle isn't satisfied: he's keeping secrets, and it's going to 'bite us on the butt' — she'd argued from the start they should have confronted Britney, and now Britney's gone somewhere they can't help her.

She demands he tell the crew what's going on with him. Carl promises they'll talk after the next floor and her final upgrade. Earlier she shared a last inside joke with departing Louis ('Go fuck yourself, Santiago').

Appearance

Temporarily a goblin in her signature socks, grumbling at her short legs; canonically the Frost Maiden crawler.

Role

The crew's blunt conscience, pushing Carl to stop hiding the Bedlam Bride and to be honest before his secrets cost them.

Relationships

Carl — Whom she confronts about the Eye and his secret-keeping, extracting a promise to talk.
Britney — Whom she'd wanted the crew to confront before she vanished beyond their help.
Louis — Her friend, with whom she trades a last inside joke as he departs.
