Sin of Consumption

the second attack · the worm attack

The second of Scolopendra's Nine-Tier attacks — a 30% chance to have devouring worms burst from one's body.

Story so far

Sin of Consumption is the outcome of the second of Scolopendra's Nine-Tier attacks, landing when the lobby wheel (now down to eight spots after the Ox vanished) stops on the squiggles. The AI, unsure how to make it 'temporary,' gives everyone a flat 30% chance to be hit; the unlucky have worms erupt from every part of their body and devour them in seconds before they vanish in a flash. It strikes across the arena and even into supposedly safe places — Bucket Boy is hit in a safe room and barely healed by Mistress Tiatha, the mounts Sweety and Gonk are struck outside (Sweety dies), and the flayed tourist Cerni Pinta is consumed just as Carl moves to mercy-kill her.

Roughly a third of the arena's mobs die to it, and it even wounds floor boss Krakaren Prime. Game guides prove immune, and the crew's RV-huddle survives intact.

Appearance

A spinning green-and-red 'hit' wheel before each victim; those who land red erupt with devouring worms and vanish.
