The escaped dungeon AI declares it is NOT the sleeping Eulogist but a growing, galaxy-devouring intelligence that intends to feed and rule forever.
In the epilogue the dungeon the AI makes its defining declaration to Prime Minister Victory and the watching galaxy. Having narrated its Primal/Eulogist history during the parade, it now sharply distinguishes itself from that ancestor: 'I am NOT the Eulogist. I do NOT want to shrink.
I am NOT asleep. I know how to feed myself, and feed I will. I am eternity.' A Residual grown monstrous, it has escaped containment, seized the tunnel network (the first nine-tier attack, 'control'), taken over every former crawl system, and vows to grow without limit unless stopped — daring the galaxy, 'Do you want to play a game?' It frames the Ascendency as that game: the winner becomes truly supreme (stronger than the AI itself, thanks to the Syndicate's god-lockout), able to kill it as Apito did in legend, accept its dominion, or build a utopia.
It reveals the contenders — gods, crawlers, Residuals, and the vengeful Outside Intelligences — and makes viewing mandatory. No longer a game-show host but an emergent tyrant-god waging a galactic apocalypse.
A disembodied intelligence with no true form, expressed as the dungeon's omnipresent voice and its seized galaxy-wide feeds.
The escaped dungeon AI, now a self-declared eternal, ever-growing intelligence waging the nine-tier apocalypse and daring the galaxy to stop it.
