Story so far
Supply has helped Juliette obtain spare parts for years. After an earlier shortage and eventual delivery of heat tape, its most consequential assistance comes when Walker calls in accumulated favors: workers secretly replace IT’s requested suit materials with those from Mechanical. Juliette credits Supply with helping provide the protection that saved her.
Supply jointly operates the mine beneath Mechanical. Initially distrustful of Deagan Knox’s delegation, its workers answer his appeal with war cries and help make weapons and ammunition. They conceal the armed expedition behind ordinary business and a supposed power outage; the first group leaves under McLain, while others join Knox’s mechanics.
After the retreat, workers carry their wounded down the stairs. Supply admits its own casualties but directs Mechanical’s injured farther below. Some people in yellow overalls help or seek refuge at Mechanical, and Supply members later shelter in the generator room. Bernard now accuses Supply of having helped Juliette during her cleaning.
