Story so far
When Hapanzi transforms in Katia's Nightmare into a large, dark-skinned human in simple pants and a vest and says "Worry not, my children," Carl notes that his accent is like that of Asojano's. Carl then recognizes the voice as the same one that occasionally speaks in his own mind.
The resemblance ties the spider-god husband of Shi Maria to the wider pantheon Carl has been entangled with, without the chapter explaining how.
