Upgrade Patch

Lucky Shot Patch · Clover Patch

Small upgrade patch granting Lucky Shot, which deflects a fatal blow onto a party member instead.

Story so far

Found inside the Legendary Lucky Bitch Box, this small upgrade patch depicts a perfectly-perfect, mouthwatering human foot treading upon a patch of four-leaf clovers, creasing them as it presses down with gentle but oh-so-firm force — the description dwelling on how the non-sentient clovers achieve a brief moment of awareness as they suffer, and how delicious that is.

Affixed to an eligible garment it grants Lucky Shot: a fatal blow will be deflected into the body of a party member instead, usable once per floor. Upgrade patches are fleeting items and are destroyed if removed. Even with Donut's Cockroach skill, Carl refuses to risk wearing it no matter how valuable it is — and he does not want the others to know what it does, lest they try to talk him into installing it. Later, when Emberus boxes him in, Carl realizes the patch is technically his "out," and he is still not tempted.

Appearance

A small cloth patch showing a bare human foot pressing down on a bed of creased four-leaf clovers.

Role

Once-per-floor death-deflection upgrade that Carl considers morally unusable.

Relationships

Carl — Owner, who keeps it permanently shelved in his inventory.
Donut — Her Cockroach skill would theoretically make the transfer survivable.
