The Scavenger

Scavenger

Figure existing as both an in-dungeon entity and a fairy tale, whose name Carl wears on his patch.

Story so far

Prompted by Akuma's claim about The Scavenger's Daughter, Carl asks Mordecai who The Scavenger is and who the Scavenger's Daughter is — admitting he knew the phrase only as the name of his patch and had no idea there was more to it.

Mordecai's answer is a question: does Carl mean the in-dungeon one, or the fairy tale? Either way, he says, it's a conversation that isn't going to matter if Carl doesn't figure out how to find and kill the two remaining warlords, or how to survive the floor without having to fight Juice Box and the NPCs. The distinction between the two Scavengers is left dangling.

Appearance

Not seen; existing in this chapter only as a name with two meanings.

Role

Unexplained figure whose name adorns Carl's patch and whose daughter the war mages seized.

Relationships

The Scavenger's Daughter — His daughter in name, taken by the war mages.
Carl — Wears the name on his backpatch.
