Profane Iron

Li Na's Chain Skill · The Chain Skill

Li Na's once-a-day skill that rips prehensile chains from the user's own flesh to attack or shield.

Story so far

Profane Iron is the skill Li Na gifted to Carl before the Temple of Khepri Raid, and which he had not used until the escape. Activating it tears his own skin as dozens of chains rip out of his flesh at a small cost to his health. The chains are prehensile: two snatch Potion of Inflict Black Nimbus flasks from his hands and hurl them into separate Mantaur Guards, another nooses a mantaur's neck, another trips two more, and two strike scorpion-like into a guard's clavicles and rip his still-screaming head and part of his spine from his body.

Unlike Li Na's ordinary chain spells, this is a once-a-day, many-chains-at-once ability. Carl can sustain it about thirty seconds and truly control only two chains; Li Na can hold it a minute and a half and control ten. She uses it offensively against multiple enemies, but it was designed as a defensive skill — a kind of shield.

Appearance

Dozens of dark iron chains bursting out through the user's own torn skin, whipping and stabbing in every direction at astonishing speed.

Role

Carl's once-a-day trump card that clears the mantaur charge during the escape.
