Parlay

parlay shield · the bubble

Warlord negotiation mechanic granting each party a mobile harm-proof shield that links when the two bubbles touch.

Story so far

Baroness Victory raises the parlay for Carl and King Rust herself, and lays out the rules as a blue bubble closes over the crawlers. Each warlord gets an independent shield; the shields travel with their owners, so both parties must stay close to one another, and conversation only becomes possible once the two bubbles touch. Neither side can do physical or magical harm to the other inside, and Saferoom rules apply within the bubble. The shields disengage automatically once the two warlords are roughly 100 meters apart.

The bubble also cuts off outside chatter — a Warlord Chat message from Colonel Tipid is clipped mid-sentence the instant the shield forms. Carl uses the parlay purely to stall, hoping to buy time for his earthworks and bunkers while Princess Donut enrages Rust into an early attack.

Role

The rules framework that lets two enemy warlords meet safely in the open between armies.
