Hell-Kissed Potion of Conscription
The potion that binds a target under a warlord's orders; it works on Lucia Mar and, elsewhere, on a god.
Story so far
The potion works on Lucia Mar — a pink glow appears around her dot and Under Orders appears over her head. Her terror instantly turns to malice, revealing she had been faking to buy time while the influence of Gustavo 3 faded from her. Under its compulsion she cannot activate any of her thirty Hotlist Triggers or protection spells against Carl, and every lunge she makes stops short as if against an invisible wall.
Carl notes there are ways to break Conscription that the The War Mages have figured out, but they are all but impossible during the first few days, especially with this version of the spell — and that the binding lasts only until the end of the floor. A Warlord Message in the same chapter announces that Harpocrates has been successfully conscripted, meaning someone worked out how to dose a god without hurting themselves.
Appearance
A potion whose effect manifests as a pink glow around the target's dot on the map and an Under Orders tag above their head.
Role
The mechanism by which warlords forcibly recruit crawlers, NPCs, and even gods during the Faction Wars.
